MACRA Considered a Threat to Physician Independence

Monday, June 27, at noon CDT – for concierge physicians

Monday, July 11, at noon CDT – for independent physicians

In an environment where physicians of small practices increasingly face financial struggles, the proposed rule for new value-based payments under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) could further threaten their independence.

A recent Black Book survey cited in Becker’s Hospital Review revealed that 67 percent of 1,300 physician groups do not have the technology, capital or staffing required to comply with MACRA. Consequently, the majority of physicians who practice in a group with five or fewer physicians believe they will be forced to join networks or larger groups.

At Specialdocs, we are closely monitoring developments related to MACRA and its potential impact on physicians and are pleased to offer two complimentary webinars to help independent physicians – in concierge/membership medicine practices or in traditional practices – better understand and prepare for MACRA’s impact on reimbursement.

Attorney Michele P. Madison, who specializes in helping clients address healthcare regulatory requirements, will provide an expert look at MACRA in each of our informative 30-minute webinars, with ample time for questions afterward.
