Medicare Bill in the News

A rare bipartisan deal negotiated by Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) that can potentially overhaul how doctors are reimbursed for treating Medicare patients has been making headlines in the past week.  Under the bill, which passed the House 392 to 37, Medicare would pay physicians based on their performance, rewarding them for higher-quality work rather than for how many patients they see…a final vote will occur when Congress is back in session after the holidays.  See below for some of the latest coverage of this important healthcare development:
