We are saddened to hear about the death this week of our colleague and friend, Dr. Edward Goldman. Specialdocs has always had a competitive yet collegial relationship with Ed, built on a foundation of mutual respect and a shared passion for concierge medicine. As one of the founders of MDVIP, Ed was truly a trailblazer, and one of the first to see the promise and potential of a fee-based membership practice offering accessible, personalized care. We have the utmost respect for his visionary leadership, which was instrumental in shaping numerous advances in American healthcare.
On a personal level, we feel privileged to have known this consummate gentleman, who was infinitely gracious and kind. We extend our deepest sympathies to Ed’s family, many colleagues and friends. The family has identified several organizations that will be accepting contributions in his memory, and we respectfully share this information with our readers: The Children’s Bereavement Center, 7600 S. Red Rd., Suite 307, South Miami, FL 33431, www.childbereavement.org; South Florida Academy of Learning, 4640 NW 74th Pl., Coconut Creek, FL 33073, www.sfal.org; or Chabad of Brookline, 105 Saint Paul St., Brookline, MA 02446, www.getchai.com.
